Sizing Is the Part That Matters
Most of what goes wrong with a new system was decided before anyone turned a wrench. Equipment gets picked off a rule of thumb, and the house gets a unit that is too big for it.
An oversized system cools the air fast, shuts off, and never runs long enough to pull humidity out. The homeowner gets a clammy house, short-cycling equipment, and a power bill they were not expecting. Then they call somebody to fix a system that was installed correctly and specified wrong.
We size off the plans. Square footage, window area and orientation, insulation values, ceiling heights, and how the ductwork actually has to run. Then we place the equipment and lay out the returns so air moves evenly through every room instead of freezing the room nearest the unit.
It takes longer up front. It is the difference between a system that works for fifteen years and one that generates callbacks for you.

We know the mechanical rough-in sits in front of insulation and drywall, and that a contractor who misses the window costs you more than the trade is worth.
